A total of 146 Members of Parliament were suspended from both Houses for inappropriate behavior during the just-held winter session.
Digital Desk: Just days after a similar behavior caused a major confrontation between the BJP and the opposition during the winter session of Parliament, Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Kalyan Banerjee imitated Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar once more. Banerjee imitated Dhankhar once more in West Bengal, referring to it as an "art performance." He said he would keep doing so since he had the fundamental right to communicate his opinions.

Additional MPs suspended included Kalyan Banerjee. On December 19, they demonstrated outside the Parliament building's Makar Gate. Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Congress, was observed recording Kalyan Banerjee on his mobile phone while Kalyan Banerjee was mimicking the vice president during the demonstration.
"I will keep doing the mimicry. That is a kind of art. I will perform this a thousand times if needed. I'm free to express my opinions and enjoy all the basic rights. You can put me in jail. I will not step back,"India Today cited Banerjee's remarks from the viral video, which Hindustan Times reported.
Dhankhar's Views On Mimicry
Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar expressed his profound pain at TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee's mimicry of him and stated that he would not put up with any insult to the parliament or the office of the vice president. The Rajya Sabha chairman called the act of mimicking him and its recording an "insult" to the dignity of farmers, his own community, and the vice presidency.
Following the third adjournment, Dhankhar conveyed his pain over the occurrence and asked the Congress party, including Leader of the Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge, to consider it. The House reconvened at 11.45 am. "I'm not bothered if someone insults Jagdeep Dhankhar, but I can't stand it if I can't defend the honour of my position. It is my duty to protect the House's honour," Dhankhar said.
