Pebbles, who would have turned 23 in March of the next year, died on October 6 of natural causes.

Digital Desk: Following the death of 22-year-old Pebbles, a toy fox terrier from South Carolina, TobyKeith, a chihuahua from Florida, has reclaimed his title as the world's oldest living dog.

TobyKeith was named the world's oldest dog by Guinness World Records in March, at the age of 21 years and 66 days.

TobyKeith's new title, however, prompted Pebbles' owners, Bobby and Julie Gregory, to realize that their dog, at 22 years old, was indeed older, and she won the title in May.

Pebbles, who would have turned 23 in March of the next year, died on October 6 of natural causes.

Her family stated in a press release, "She spent her days enjoying country music and being loved."

"She was a once-in-a-lifetime companion, and it was our privilege to have had her as a pet and family member."

As a result, TobyKeith is once again the world's oldest dog.
