As per reports, Julie and her daughter were attacked by sharp weapons, while Lohit Deka's body was found hanging at quarter number 427.


Digital Desk: In a shocking incident at Bamunimaidam's Railway Colony on Wednesday, a 47-year-old man killed his 42-year-old wife and stepdaughter, then committed suicide. The man identified as Lohit Thakuria allegedly hanged himself after killing his wife Julie Deka and her daughter from her previous marriage. The three bodies were recovered inside a railway quarter at Bamunimaidam.


As per reports, Julie and her daughter were attacked by sharp weapons, while Lohit Deka's body was found hanging at quarter number 427.


DCP Central Amitabh Basumatary said that the police rushed immediately to the crime scene as soon as they received information about the case at 2 pm on Wednesday. The CID team has arrived at the site to investigate the suspected murder-suicide case.


Julie, suspected to be killed by her husband, was a railway employee in the mechanical department. Her colleagues were concerned following her absence from the office.


According to reports, Julie had filed an FIR against her husband Lohit under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, following which he was arrested by the police. However, the main reason behind the murder-suicide case remains unclear.
