Dismissing all the allegations against his wife, Gaurav Gogoi hits back and says that such allegations are laughable and that if his wife is an ISI agent, then he is a R&AW agent in India.

Digital Desk: Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma claimed that Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi's wife Elizabeth Colebourn has links with Pakistan and its intelligence agency ISI. BJP Spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia also made similar allegations on Wednesday that Elizabeth worked for an American senator with close ties to the Pakistani establishment and later spent time in Pakistan.

Dismissing all the allegations against his wife, Gaurav Gogoi hits back and says that such allegations are laughable and that if his wife is an ISI agent, then he is a R&AW agent in India. He further says that CM Sarma is making these allegations so that he can divert all the accusations against him.

Speaking to a news agency on Wednesday, Gaurav Gogoi said, "If my wife is an ISI agent of Pakistan, then I am a R&AW agent of India. I don't mind if a family against whom there are various cases and several allegations makes accusations against me. The Assam Chief Minister is making these allegations only to divert attention from the allegations against him."

Taking to X, BJP Spokesperson Bhatia wrote, "Very disturbing and serious facts have come to light that the Deputy Leader of Opposition, Gaurav Gogoi, and his wife have links with Pakistan and the ISI. I am saying this with some responsibility that Gourav Gogoi's wife Elizabeth Colebourn, has links with Tauqir Sheikh, who happens to be the advisor in the Pakistan Planning Commission."
