This occurred the day following the terrible triple train catastrophe in Odisha, which claimed 278 lives and injured 1,100 people.

Digital Desk: A train heading from Maharashtra's popular Matheran hill station to Neral has derailed, but no passenger suffered any injury, railway officials said on Tuesday.
They claimed the incident occurred at around 5.30 pm on Saturday when one of the wheels of the toy train's engine derailed near Jumma Patti station, which is around 95 km from Mumbai.

This occurred the day following the terrible triple train catastrophe in Odisha, which claimed 278 lives and injured 1,100 people.

According to the officials, the toy train had 90 to 95 passengers when it departed Matheran on Saturday at around 4 o'clock.
A railway spokeswoman confirmed that no passengers were injured.

He claimed that the passengers left the train without delay and departed in cabs for their destinations.

According to the railway employees, the train was re-railed at around 9 p.m. and returned to Neral station, which is situated at the base of the Matheran hills, by 10.30 pm.

According to him, the event caused the last train from Neral to Matheran to be cancelled, and as a result, the passengers' tickets on both trains were refunded.

The representative stated that the toy train travels at a leisurely speed and that occasionally when coaches derail, the support staff accompanying the train just lifts them and places them back on the tracks.

The toy train service between Neral and Matheran will be suspended during the monsoon, according to a senior railway official.

The Neral-Matheran toy train has been around for over 100 years. This is one of the few mountain railways (section) in India.
The scenic ghat of the hill station is crossed by the 21 km long Neral-Matheran narrow gauge railroad.

For safety reasons, the toy train service between Neral and Matheran is typically discontinued from June to October, when it rains.

However, it only runs between Matheran and Aman Lodge, the station nearest to Dasturi Point, beyond which cars are not permitted on the hill station.
