Digital Desk: Elon Musk's company, Twitter, has been sued for failing to pay the rent for its San Francisco office space, according to Bloomberg.
As stated by the landowner, the social media giant was told on December 16, 2022, that if the rent for the 30th floor of the Hartford Building was not paid within five days, it would be in default on its lease.
Columbia Reit claimed in their complaint that the occupant did not comply.
On Thursday, the case against Twitter was filed in San Francisco state court.
According to several media sources, Twitter has not paid the rent for its headquarters or any of its other global locations in weeks.
This is not Twitter's first time being sued. Previously, the corporation was sued for refusing to pay for two charter flights.
As reported by the New York Times, Twitter has ceased paying rent following Elon Musk's tumultuous $44 billion takeover.
Musk claimed that Twitter had a "huge reduction in revenue" in the days following his $44 billion purchase of the firm.
He stated in a tweet, without offering any data or evidence, that the revenue decline was caused by activist groups exerting pressure on advertisers.
