Digital Desk: In the midst of a Bihu event in the city, two youths were viciously stabbed in Guwahati's Maligaon on Saturday night.

Simanta Talukdar (18) and Rohit Kumar Gami (22) have been recognised as the victims.

According to sources, Simanta and Rohit were both attacked with knives during a confrontation between them and a gang of youngsters outside the Maligaon Stadium, where singer Vreegu Kashyap was playing live.

Both patients were brought to Pandu FRU for emergency treatment, however physicians sent him to the Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) for better care.

Gami tragically died while seeking therapy.

Meanwhile, Simanta was kept under medical supervision.

Following the event, Jalukbari police arrested Rahul Baishya in connection with the murder case.

It has been learned that all of the other accused are currently on the run.
