Institutions can only install selfie points that adhere to the approved designs in 3D blueprints...

Digital Desk: According to sources, the UGC has ordered universities and colleges across the nation to put up selfie stations in strategic spots on campus to increase awareness among young people about India's achievements in many fields.

Only the approved designs in 3D layouts given by the Ministry of Education can be used by universities to install selfie spots.

''These selfie sites will not only serve as a source of pride for every citizen but will also educate them on the transformative measures that have powered India's rise on the world stage.

University Grants Commission (UGC) Secretary Manish Joshi said, "Students and visitors should be encouraged to capture and share these special moments on social media platforms, fostering a sense of collective pride."

He stated that the selfie point themes cover a wide range of national efforts, including ''Ek Bharat Shreshth Bharat'' and the primary thrust areas of the National Education Policy (NEP), 2020.

''There is a unique opportunity to harness the energy and passion of youngsters, shaping their brains with inspiration derived from India's growth in many disciplines. The selfie sites in these institutions will emerge as a vibrant and engaging venue to create a feeling of national pride and awareness among youth and inspire future generations,'' Joshi predicted.
