Boris Johnson, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, 2-day visit to India will start from April 21-22; he will hold diplomatic talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Digital Desk: Boris Johnson, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, will visit India for two days, on April 21-22. "My travel to India will deliver on the things that matter to the people of both our countries, from job creation and economic growth to energy security and defense," Johnson stated ahead of the trip.

Jhonson's visit to Gujarat on April 21 is about Johnson holding bilateral meetings with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, according to a statement provided by the ministry of external affairs on Sunday.

According to the release, "the prime ministers will examine the implementation of Roadmap 2030 and define their vision for further expanding collaboration throughout the whole range of bilateral ties."

In the context of the ongoing India-UK Free Trade Agreement negotiations, the two leaders will also discuss ways to deepen bilateral ties. "Investment from Indian companies already supports 95,000 employment across the UK," Prime Minister Johnson stated, "which is likely to be bolstered by further announcements and a future free trade agreement."

As Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, this will be his first trip to India. Boris Johnson had to cancel two trips to India last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The India-UK virtual summit in May 2021 agreed on a 10-year framework (Roadmap 2030) to strengthen ties in important areas such as commerce and economics, defense and security, climate change, and people-to-people links.
