Digital Desk: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit the poll-bound state of Assam on April 6. The visit comes amid the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. 

The Home Minister is scheduled to attend public events in Lakhimpur and Hojai, Assam, reports stated.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will likely be traveling to Guwahati on April 6, this was informed by Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday.
 
While talking to reporters, CM Sarma added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP national president JP Nadda are also likely to visit Assam soon.

Earlier on March 28, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma convened a crucial meeting to discuss on the Lok Sabha election strategy at the BJP headquarters in Guwahati. 

As per reports, the meeting would also go over plans for Union Home Minister Amit Shah's April 6 visit to Assam. 

Himanta Biswa Sarma further claimed that PM Modi has been invited by the BJp-led administration to speak at two rallies in Kokrajhar and Nalbari, though the PM's schedule has not yet been confirmed.
