Digital Desk: The United Christian Forum of North East India (NEI) would like to convey its deep sorrow and worry over the recent incidents of widespread violence, arson, destruction of property, loss of life, and desecration of religious locations in Manipur.

According to a news release from the Christian forum, "We urge all parties involved to exercise restraint and work towards a peaceful resolution to the situation."

"As a Christian organisation, we are committed to upholding the dignity of every person and the value of human life. We call on every member of society to abstain from violence and speak up peacefully about their issues instead," the statement continued.

The forum also expressed its condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in this turmoil and urged the authorities to take the necessary steps to prosecute those responsible.

In addition, the United Christian Forum urges the government to act to address the underlying problems that have exacerbated the situation and to strive towards a long-term resolution.

The United Christian Forum went on to say, "As a forum representing the Christian community in the North Eastern Region of India, we stand in solidarity with all people affected by this upheaval and pray for peace and healing in the region.”
