Desk: A man committed suicide in Uttar Pradesh's
Jhansi after an argument with his wife over her refusal to cook chicken for
him. The event occurred on Thursday night in the city's Prem Nagar
neighbourhood.
Pawan, the deceased, worked at a furniture store and had been
married to Priyanka for four years.
The couple has a two-year-old daughter and used to argue
frequently about Pawan's drinking habits.
Pawan asked his wife to
make chicken for him on Thursday, but Priyanka declined, stating she had
already cooked dinner for the family. The debate quickly escalated into
physical violence, and Priyanka retired to a different room to sleep.
Pawan was discovered hanging in his room hours later after his
elder brother came to check on him.
Pawan's brother stated in a statement that he knocked on the
deceased's door multiple times but received no response. He then invited his
daughter to peer through the window inside the room.
Pawan's body was found after police arrived and forced through the
door.
A postmortem examination
of the body was then performed.
