Digital Desk: Following a fight over not bringing meat, a man allegedly killed his wife by slitting her throat in Uttar Pradesh's Aligarh district. The incident occurred in the Mabudnagar area of the Rorawar police station.

Sagir, the accused, used to live with his wife, Guddo (30), and three children.

Sagir picked up an argument with his wife on Monday about not bringing meat. The argument heated up, and Sagir slit his wife's throat with a knife in front of his children. Locals gathered at the scene after hearing the children's screams and alerted police.

The deceased's daughter witnessed the entire incident and stated that her parents fought over meat, after which her father slit her mother's neck.

As a result, people apprehended Sagir and handed him over to the police. The body was also sent for a post-mortem examination by police.

The accused has been arrested, according to SP City Kuldeep Gunawat, and the weapon used in the crime has also been recovered. A case has been filed, and further investigations are underway.
