Digital Desk: On Tuesday, the 10th day of the rescue mission to free 41 workers trapped in a partially collapsed tunnel in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand, began. The authorities have advised rescue crews that horizontal drilling is their primary emphasis.

Lt General Syed Ata Hasnain, a member of the National Disaster Management Authority (NMDA), stated, "Our focused effort is on horizontal drilling through the auger machine which has been brought from outside." He continued by saying that there was enough light, air, and water within the tunnel.

He said that two NDRF teams were rehearsing at the location to handle any unforeseen circumstances. "If in any case, they have to crawl and enter the tunnel or provide help to technical experts or to bring out the workers trapped in the tunnel," he stated.
