Guwahati: The police have detained three suspects in connection with a teenage girl's murder that took place on September 1, Wednesday, in Guwahati's Uzan Bazaar area. The city was rattled with the sensational murder of a 13 year old girl, Dimple Kumawat, who was killed inside her home by an unidentified miscreant yesterday inside her home.
The victim identified as Dimple Kumawat, was a student of class 8, of an English Medium School in Guwahati. She was alone in the house as her parents – Ashok Kumawat (father) and Anjali Kumawat (mother)– had proceeded like other days to run their fast food joint in the area. The mutilated body was first discovered by her aunt at around noon.
The girl's body was sent for an autopsy to further substantiate the real cause of her death.
The police have detained three suspects - Ashik Gupta (cousin), Ashik's friend Karan Das and one of the renters.
It is still unclear who the real culprit is as investigation is underway.
