Digital Desk: A merchant at the Old MLA Hostel complex in Guwahati's Dispur has been ordered by the speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly to close up shop.

A new multistory residence will be built at the complex for MLAs, so the shopkeeper Subhas Barman has been asked to clear the area.

The shop must be empty by January 20 without fail, and Barman has been instructed to leave as a result.
