A verbal brawl broke out inside the control room after the cops on duty allegedly misbehaved...

Digital Desk: After a violent conflict between personnel and villagers on Saturday evening, the situation at the Dibgoi electrical sub-division of the Assam Power Distribution Corporation Limited (APDCL) became tense.

As reported by sources, a verbal brawl broke out inside the control room after the cops on duty allegedly misbehaved with the residents who had gone to submit a complaint.

Digboi residents reportedly arrived at the substation to file a complaint about an issue with electricity delivery. Locals, on the other hand, claim that the officers on duty physically assaulted them and forced them out of the control room.

According to sources, villagers called the control room yesterday to inquire about the outage of electricity in Digboi's Borjan village. Locals further stated that despite being informed multiple times, no action was taken by the substation's concerned authority.

It's been reportedly mentioned, when a few Borjan village residents arrived at the office to file a complaint, the control room workers beat them and denied them access to the register.

Locals have also said that the public helpline number was ineffective in resolving their issues.
