The vice president has a scheduled visit to the third Lokmanthan colloquium, which is held every two years in Guwahati's Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra.


Digital Desk: The vice president of India, Jagdeep Dhankhar arrived in Guwahati on Thursday to take part in the Lokmanthan 2022 organised in the city. The vice president received a warm welcome from the state Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma along with Governor of the state Prof Jagdish Mukhi at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBIA).

Taking to Twitter, CM Sarma wrote, "Honoured to welcome Adarniya Vice President Shri @jdhankhar1 ji, along with Hon Governor Prof @jagdishmukhi ji, at LGBI Airport."


He added, "Hon VP will address #Lokmanthan, an intellectual discourse to promote Indian ethos, at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, Guwahati."

The vice president has a scheduled visit to the third Lokmanthan colloquium, which is held every two years in Guwahati's Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra.

VP Dhankhar will attend as the chief guest on the second day of the event, along with Governor Mukhi and CM Sarma.

Assam Tourism Development Corporation and the Intellectual Forum of North East are responsible for organising Lokmanthan 2022.

The purpose of the event this year is to give ethnic communities in the Northeast a platform to present their cultures.

It may be mentioned that this year, the Lokmanthan will feature several seminars with a variety of themes. Intellectuals, artists, writers, and scholars from throughout the nation will attend these seminars.
