Smriti Mandhana, the captain of the RCB while talking about their first win stated "Virat Kohli bhaiya's guidance helped us, He motivated us and talked a lot to our squad."

Digital Desk: Smriti Mandhana-led Royal Challengers Bangalore registered their maiden victory in the first edition of the Women Premier League against UP Warriorz at DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai. With this, RCB's first victory of the tournament, they still have a chance to be among the top three in the standings. Bangalore's franchise, however, is unable to take the top two spots, thus they must aim for the third.

Virat Kohli, the superstar of Indian cricket and the former captain of the RCB in the IPL, gave the girls a pep talk before the match, and it appears that his 15 years of experience with the squad helped the team gain momentum.

Smriti Mandhana, the captain of the RCB while talking about their first win stated "Virat Kohli bhaiya's guidance helped us, He motivated us and talked a lot to our squad."

Nevertheless, it wasn't just Kohli's speech that enabled RCB to smell victory; the playing XI also put up a strong overall effort. Ellyse Perry bowled an outstanding spell of 3 for 16 to help RCB's first-innings defence stop UP Warriorz for 134. Kanika Ahuja, a left-handed batter, played a game-winning inning of 46 in just 30 balls while chasing, gaining her the player of the match award for the first time.

Bangalore must win all of their remaining games to hope that other results break their way if they want to finish third in the table. Gujarat must defeat Alyssa Healy and company for RCB to advance, even if MI wins over the Gujarat Giants and DC defeats the UP Warriorz. Smiriti and the squad have what appears to be an uphill struggle from this point, but only time will tell how long they can hang onto this glimmer of hope of making the playoffs.
