Unexpectedly, the pitch invader, initially detained by police, was later released and welcomed back with enthusiastic well-wishers adorning him with garlands.

Digital Desk: Virat Kohli fans are well-known for their passionate antics, frequently looking for opportunities to interact with the cricket maestro. A fan recently broke security to meet Virat Kohli during the 2nd T20I against Afghanistan in Indore.

Unexpectedly, the pitch invader, initially detained by police, was later released and welcomed back with enthusiastic well-wishers adorning him with garlands.

Such incursions may have been disastrous in the past, but at this point in his career, Kohli understands the significant influence of his public persona. He asked security to treat the fan gently in spite of the breach. The detained person, who was revealed to be an ardent fan of Kohli, had come inside the stadium with a valid ticket and tried to scale the gallery fence to meet the player.

The fan was eventually released, despite early reports suggesting possible consequences. The event demonstrates the passion of Kohli's fan base, which at times borders on the insane. Similar incidents have happened in the past, including a famous one that happened during an IPL game in Kolkata two years ago.

With his third Twenty20 International against Afghanistan in Bengaluru approaching, Kohli's 14-month absence from T20Is has received attention. All eyes are on Kohli and skipper Rohit Sharma to show off his skills in this final Twenty20 international, even though it's a dead rubber, because there are suspicions that he may be included in India's World Cup squad in the upcoming months.
