Modi arrived in New York on Friday to attend the third in-person Quad leaders' conference as well as the annual G7 summit, where he will examine methods for all world leaders to collaborate to address global challenges.

Digital Desk: US President Joe Biden approached Prime Minister Narendra Modi and hugged him during the G7 Summit in Hiroshima on Saturday.

The two world leaders hugged and exchanged a few words before the Indian Prime Minister settled in with the other world leaders attending Working Session 6 in Japan.

Food, fertilizer, energy security, health, gender equality, climate change and the environment, resilient infrastructure, and development cooperation will all be discussed at the G7 meetings.

Earlier today, during his visit to Hiroshima for the G-7 Summit, Prime Minister Modi visited notable Japanese personalities Dr. Tomio Mizokami and Hiroko Takayama, both of whom have excelled in their fields.

On Saturday, the Prime Minister also unveiled a bust of Mahatma Gandhi in Hiroshima Peace Park, ahead of the second day of the G-7 Summit. The government of India presented the Mahatma Gandhi bust to the city of Hiroshima as a gesture of peace and goodwill between India and Japan.  The bust site is near the famous Atomic Bomb Dome, which is visited daily by hundreds of residents and visitors. It is situated near the Motoyasu River.

The prime minister is in Hiroshima on the first leg of a three-nation trip to Japan, Papua New Guinea, and Australia, and is slated to participate in over 40 events.
