The IMD has forecast heavy rain across Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya... 

Digital Desk: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rain in Assam, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Arunachal Pradesh, and Meghalaya throughout the weekend, as well as in Odisha on Monday, April 24. 

The weather department has also predicted dust storms in areas of Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh, as well as scorching heat and humidity in Kerala. However, relief is predicted in places suffering from a severe heatwave.


"Over the next four days, areas of Odisha, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, and the Northeast are expected to get significant rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds," reports IMD.

Severe rain is expected in isolated areas of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya on Monday, April 24, with parts of Odisha also receiving heavy precipitation.


The current heatwave will be relieved across the country for the next five days, according to the weather forecast.
