Digital Desk: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rains in almost all Northeastern states over the next five days.

As per the IMD announcement, Heavy rains are forecasted in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura.

According to the IMD, widespread rainfall with isolated heavy rainfall is likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura over the next five days due to the influence of strong south-westerly winds from the Bay of Bengal to Northeast India in lower troposphere levels.

According to the IMD, widespread rainfall is expected in Nagaland on June 7 and 8 in the districts of Mon, Longleng, Tuensang, Kohima, and Peren.

On the other hand, rain is expected in the Nagaland districts of Mokokchung, Kiphire, Phek, Dimapur, Zunheboto, and Wokha on the same days.

On June 9 and 10, Dimapur, Wokha, Mokokchung, Zunheboto, Kiphire, and Phek districts are likely to see widespread rain, while Mon, Longleng, Tuensang, Kohima, and Peren districts are likely to see widespread rain.
