Assam and Northeast residents are urged to stay informed and prepared for potentially severe weather conditions over the coming days

Digital Desk: Meteorologists are once again cautioning Assam residents as thunderstorms loom over the state for the next five days. The Regional Meteorological Centre in Guwahati warns of storms originating from sea level, poised to unleash winds and rain across northeastern states.

From isolated pockets in Assam to Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura, winds could reach speeds of 30-40 km/h within the next 24 hours, accompanied by thunderstorms.

Moderate rainfall is also expected to drench various parts of Assam and neighbouring states during this period. This forecast, issued by the Regional Meteorological Centre in Barjhar, extends the warning until May 7.

Senior meteorologists anticipate similar stormy conditions persisting throughout this period, with wind speeds maintained at 30/40 km/h across Assam and other northeastern regions. Assam and Northeast residents are urged to stay informed and prepared for potentially severe weather conditions over the coming days.
