Digital Desk: Weddings are pouring down in Bollywood! Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar are the most recent couple to follow in their footsteps. The couple has apparently been dating for nearly three years. After much speculation regarding the couple’s wedding, the would-be groom’s father, famed lyricist and screenwriter Javed Akhtar, finally confirmed the big news to Bombay Times.
Farhan-Shibani is supposed to be getting married in a registered ceremony on February 21, followed by an intimate ceremony with family and close friends at Akhtar’s family house in Khandala.
Speaking to Bombay Times, Javed Akhtar said, “Yes, the wedding bells are taking place. Rest, shaadi ki jo taiyyariyan hain will be look after by the wedding planner.”
Javed Akhtar added that due to the covid-19 pandemic, only a small number of people would attend the private event.
“Considering the scenario, it is evident that we cannot host anything on a wide scale. We’ll only be phoning a few friends and relatives. It will be a fairly straightforward affair. Khair abhi tak toh invites nahi bheje gaye hai." says Javed.
When asked about Shibani, Javed Akhtar replied that she is a lovely girl and eager to welcome her to the Akhtar family.
She is adored by all of us; most importantly, she and Farhan get along very well, which is fantastic, he added.
