Kolkata: The seven-member panel set up by the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) to probe alleged post-poll violence in West Bengal submitted five sets of reports in sealed covers before the Calcutta High Court on Tuesday.

Receiving the reports, the five-judge bench of Calcutta High Court said that it would hear the case on July 22.

Moreover, during the hearing, Calcutta High Court ordered DNA matching of the body of BJP labour wing leader Abhijit Sarkar. The court stated that a second post-mortem examination of Sarkar’s body, has been carried out at the Command Hospital here as per its earlier direction and that the report was being prepared.

Earlier, the NHRC team which was constituted in accordance with the Calcutta High Court submitted an interim report to the court. The report stated that during the probe it was found that more than 40 houses were destroyed in the post-poll violence.
