Notably, the state power provider later corrected the bill, and action has been taken against the employees who made this huge mistake.

Digital Desk: A family in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, was shocked when they received a tremendous electricity bill, which is both shocking and disturbing. The enormous Rs 3,419 crore power bill that Gwalior resident Priyanka Gupta received caused her father-in-law to fall ill.

Much to the satisfaction of the concerned Gupta family, who live in the city's Shiv Vihar Colony, the Madhya Pradesh government-run power provider blamed "human error" and issued a corrected bill for Rs 1,300.

Sanjeev Kankane, the husband of Priyanka Gupta, said that his father became unwell as a result of seeing the enormous amount on the July electricity bill for residential consumption.

According to him, the bill, which was published on July 20, was cross-verified via the website of the Madhya Pradesh Madhya Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company (MPMKVVC), but it was determined to be accurate.

"An employee accidentally entered the consumer number in the software instead of the units consumed, which increased the bill's total. The electricity user has received the corrected bill for Rs 1,300, "Nitin Manglik, general manager of MPMKVVC, said."

The state power provider later corrected the bill, and action has been taken against the employees who made this huge mistake.
