Digital Desk: After announcing several new features, the Meta-owned messaging platform WhatsApp is now allowing some beta testers to add up to 1,024 users to groups.

This feature is available on the WhatsApp beta for Android and iOS, but it is limited to a certain, undefined number of beta testers, said WABetaInfo.

The messaging service WhatsApp, which is owned by Meta, has announced a number of new capabilities and is now enabling the addition of up to 1,024 users to groups for some beta testers.

This functionality is accessible on the WhatsApp beta for Android and iOS, but it is only available to an unspecified number of beta testers, said WABetaInfo.

As per the report, if a user wants to see if the feature is available on their WhatsApp account, they can try to form a group or add new participants to an existing one.

WhatsApp is also developing new tools to give admins more control over these larger groups in the future, such as a list of pending participants and an approval system, as per the report.

The company released new features, including the ability to expand groups from 256 to 512 people, in May.

Meanwhile, the platform recently rolled out another feature for business accounts—WhatsApp Premium—to beta testers in select countries.

Businesses can use WhatsApp Premium to gain access to additional features such as improved client communication and certain advantages when linking new devices.
