Digital Desk: While Lal Singh Chaddha, the latest film from Hindi film superstar Aamir Khan, is making headlines, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said today that Mr. Khan wanted to visit Assam this week but was asked to postpone his proposed trip because the state is observing the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' initiative from August 13 to 15. According to sources, Mr. Khan planned to travel to Guwahati on August 14 to promote his film. He is currently anticipated to arrive on August 16.

"Aamir Khan expressed a desire to visit and even chatted with me. However, we did not want it to be diminished because this time the emphasis is on Independence Day and the entire Tiranga programme and its significance. As a result, I asked him to delay and return after Independence Day "Guwahati reporters were told by Mr. Sarma.

The actor will come over whenever he invites him because they frequently converse on the phone.

Mr. Sarma has reportedly assured actor Aamir Khan that whenever he comes to Assam, the Chief Minister will watch the movie with him and his entire cast.

The Chief Minister recently praised Aamir Khan for his donation to the state's flood relief efforts.

This year on June 27, Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted "Famous Bollywood performer Amir Khan has donated Rs. 25 lakh to the CM Relief Fund in order to assist the flood victims in our State. My sincere appreciation for his kindness and care ".
