A joint team detected and arrested one heroin peddler…

Digital Desk:  A raid was conducted by joint forces between the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) at Guwahati Railway Station on 23rd January 2025 and it detain a woman carrying heroin. A team conducted an inspection of Train No. 12068 (Janashatabdi Express) after it arrived at Platform No. 6. The inspection resulted in the detention of Rudrani Bhattacharjee (36) from Agartala in Tripura after officials raised suspicion. She took Dimapur to Guwahati transportation by riding in Coach D8 Seat No. 95.

The investigation of her luggage revealed thirty plastic soap boxes filled with heroin that weighed 360 grams having a market value of Rs. 72,00,000. BCN/GHY arrested Bhattacharjee while seizing her drugs along with her before conducting further court procedures. The ongoing investigation will determine appropriate actions which will be implemented following its conclusion.
