Digital Desk: A fatal assault in Guwahati's Mathgharia zone resulted in the death of 45-year-old Uday Roy Chowdhury. The accused Raja Basumatary maintains an established relationship as Uday's nephew. According to reports, the two had been drinking together since 9:30 pm.
The two men argued about something and an argument broke out which resulted in physical assault by midnight on Thursday and eventually, Raja ended up killing his uncle. During the attack, Raja allegedly struck Uday multiple times with a wooden plank. The incident occurred around 2-2:30 am on Mathgharia's Sanghati path.
The hospital staff evaluated Uday Roy Chowdhury upon his arrival and eventually determined him dead. The Noonmati police arrested suspect Raja while investigating what led to the victim's death. The attack took place after both parties got intoxicated according to eyewitness reports awaiting additional investigation details.
