Digital Desk: A tragic incident unfolded in Borolkuchi village in Tamulpur on Friday morning when a 48-year-old woman lost her life after being struck by lightning while working in a paddy field.
The deceased, identified as Minoti Brahma, was a resident of Borolkuchi under the Jhargaon area.
According to reports, Minoti Brahma was engaged in seasonal cultivation alongside several other women when a sudden storm, accompanied by intense lightning, swept through the region.
The lightning strike left Minoti Brahma with critical injuries.
Although local residents acted swiftly to rescue her and transport her to a nearby hospital, doctors declared her dead on arrival.
While the other women working alongside her narrowly escaped the strike, the sudden loss has cast a pall of gloom over the entire village.
The victim's family remains in deep grief as the community mourns the tragic incident.
