New Delhi: To boost the women empowerment of the country, the central government has decided to deploy a maiden contingent of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) women commandoes with High-profile political leaders here on Wednesday.

It includes Home Minister Amit Shah, Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, and others who come under high risk.

The CRPF has already trained its 32 women commandoes for the first time who will be deployed to guard the high-profile leaders who receive the top Z+ security.

Sources quoted that these women commandoes have already undergone ten weeks' training in providing VIP duties to the leaders, special weapon firing, and body frisking. They will be deployed by the month of January.

Moreover, sources said that this women contingent would serve several other Z+ category CRPF protectees on a rotational basis.

Reportedly, these women protectees will be assigned as a part of the house protection team of these VIPs. Further, if required, they will escort the political leaders during the upcoming assembly election in Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Goa, Manipur and Uttarakhand.

These women commandoes engaged in house protection will check the female visitors and will be responsible for the overall security of the VIPs house.

Like the male commandoes, the women will also carry ballistic protections, arms and other things required on the job.
