Digital Desk: The BCCI invited bids on Friday for media rights to the Women's Indian Premier League (WIPL) for a five-year period between 2023-27.

"The Governing Council of the IPL invites bids from reputed entities to acquire the media rights for the Women’s Indian Premier League Seasons 2023–2027 through a tender process," BCCI secretary Jay Shah stated in a media release.

It has not yet been specified whether the WIPL media rights bid will be a sealed one-time bid or incremental e-auction bids.

The "Invitation to Tender" (ITT) bid document is priced at Rs. 5 lakh + relevant tax. The procedure for obtaining the ITT documents is detailed in Annexure A of the document. The ITT will be available for purchase until December 31, 2022. Any interested party who wishes to submit a bid must purchase the ITT.

However, only those who meet the eligibility criteria outlined in the ITT and agree to the additional terms and conditions outlined in the ITT will be able to bid. It has been made clear that simply obtaining the ITT does not entitle anyone to bid.
