Digital Desk: A tragic accident occurred near the Gauhati High Court, claiming the life of a young woman, identified as 22-year-old Niha Das.
The incident took place in front of the Chief Justice’s residence. The vehicle involved was a Maruti ALTO with registration number AS 01LC 8910.
Niha Das was a resident of Fatasil, Ambari. Following the incident, the driver was detained by the Panbazar Police.
The fatal crash occurred when the car collided with a divider, reportedly due to the driver's negligence, resulting in Niha's death on the spot.
Niha was a final-year graduation student of R.G. Baruah College. She had gone out for a drive in the same vehicle after attending a party in Bharalumukh.
Earlier in the evening, she had left her home on her scooter, informing her mother that she was heading for tuition.
She also mentioned she would leave her scooter and go out for a meal with friends. Her parents were not alarmed, as she often returned home late.
Niha Das was a dedicated individual who supported her family by providing tuition to the students in her neighbourhood.
