The Maruti WagonR with the registration number AS 01 BD 9455 that was involved in the incident last night has also been seized by Dispur Police.

Digital Desk: The number of crimes in Guwahati is increasing day by day. The city is continuously reporting cases of dangerous car or bike stunts, chain snatching, vehicle theft, and violence against women. One such terrifying incident took place on Wednesday in Guwahati's Khanapara where a miscreant dragged a woman by her hair from his car after she rejected his approaches.
 
The horrifying incident took place last night in front of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Khanapara. The accused arrived in his car and began performing dangerous stunts and making lewd gestures toward the woman in his car.
 
The victim claimed that after being confronted with this, she rejected his approach and called him a drug addict, which enraged him. The victim was then carried along the road for a time before the youth released her after grabbing her hair from inside his car.
 
Local police quickly arrived at the scene after the incident and started an investigation. The identity of the miscreant was established as Rohan Agarwal.
 
After seeing the incident, the locals reportedly chased him down and, after a protracted chase, caught him at Bhetapara.
