Digital Desk: Renowned Assamese actor Prastuti Porasor shared her heartfelt thoughts on the untimely demise of Assam's beloved cultural icon, Zubeen Garg.
During her visit to Nalbari's Marowa for a theatre performance, the actor announced an initiative to honour Zubeen Garg's memory.
She revealed plans to plant a Nahor tree, with the support of every organising committee, at each locations she performs.
Expressing her disbelief over Zubeen Garg's passing, she remarked, "Even today, it feels unreal that Zubeen is no longer with us."
She also made an earnest appeal to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, urging him to ensure justice in the matter.
Reflecting on Zubeen Garg's legacy, she described him as a legendary figure who united the greater Assamese society, "Bor Axom," transcending barriers of caste, religion, gender, and age, even after his death.
She emphasized how people from all walks of life came together to bid him farewell.
Prastuti Porasor concluded by stating that it is now the collective responsibility of artists and the people of Assam to keep the spirit of "Bor Axom" alive in his memory.
