Digital Desk: The Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is set to visit Assam on November 9 to attend a grand Indian Air Force (IAF) Air Show in Guwahati, featuring a spectacular lineup of 150 aircraft, including the Rafale, Sukhoi, and MiG fighter jets.

The mega event will take place at Lachit Ghat, along the scenic banks of the Brahmaputra River, where the skies over Guwahati will come alive with breathtaking displays of aerial precision, power, and discipline.

Announcing the Defence Minister’s visit, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “On November 9, the Union Defence Minister will attend a mega Air Show at Lachit Ghat in Guwahati, where 150 aircraft of the Indian Air Force , including Rafales, Sukhois, and MiGs , will showcase their strength.”

This landmark event, themed “Infallible, Impervious, and Precise,” is part of the IAF’s Air Force Day celebrations in the Northeast, marking the first-ever large-scale flying display in the region.

The demonstration will feature a diverse fleet of fighter jets, transport aircraft, and helicopters, performing synchronised formation flights and dynamic aerial manoeuvres that highlight the IAF’s cutting-edge technology and professional excellence.

As per record, the show is not only meant to show off the aerial capability of India, but also to encourage the young people of the Northeast to enlist in the military. The event aims at promoting pride in the nation, bravery and patriotism amongst the citizens.

Public viewing zones will be arranged along the Brahmaputra riverfront, allowing spectators to witness the rare spectacle up close.

Before Rajnath Singh’s visit, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will be in Assam on November 7 and 8 to inaugurate major infrastructure projects, including the Guwahati Gateway Terminal, the Guwahati Riverfront Project, and to lay the foundation stone of Swahid Kanaklata Barua State University at Gohpur.
