Why has he still not received justice?
Digital Desk: Zubeen Garg’s final film 'Roi Roi Binale' was released across Assam today, a day eagerly awaited by countless fans. Among them was an elderly woman from Kaliabor who refused to let age weaken her devotion to the legendary artist.
Overcome with grief, the 60-year-old grandmother broke down in tears, unable to express the pain she carries within. Since the demise of her beloved “Pranor Xilpi” (artist of the soul), she has spent her days quietly penning poems dedicated to Zubeen Garg. She sits by the window of her home and writes one poem after another; in words, pouring out the pain within:
Recounting the tragic events surrounding Zubeen's last days in Singapore with Shyamkanu and Siddharth, this elderly woman articulated her anger and shock in the following manner: “Every person sheds tears for Zubeen Garg today,” she said, “but why has he still not received justice?”
Identified as Bulu Baruah from the old Satra area of Kaliabor, she demanded a proper investigation into Zubeen’s death. “If he had died due to illness, we would have accepted it,” she said with trembling voice. “But this—this cruel separation—we cannot accept. Zubeen was taken away from us mercilessly, and we want justice.”
Her heartfelt words reflect the collective grief of an entire state still struggling to come to terms with the loss of one of Assam’s most beloved icons.
