Digital Desk: A murder case has come to light in Hajo’s Hirapara area of Assam, where a missing youth is suspected to have been killed and his body dumped in the nearby river.

The victim, identified as Munindra Deka, also known as “Chikna,” was a resident of Ramdia Majorkuri and had been missing since 3rd May.


According to reports, two brothers—Raju Deka and Mridul Deka, were brought in for questioning by Hajo Police on 5th May. During the investigation, the duo allegedly confessed to murdering the youth and disposing of his body in the Kolajal River at Gendhelatari Hirapara.


Based on their confession, a search operation has been launched in the river by Assam Police, along with teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).


Authorities are continuing their investigation, while efforts are underway to recover the body from the river.
