Several Telegram channels, a website link, and an Instagram account were found to be actively circulating pirated copies and video clips of the movie without authorization
Digital Desk: The production team of the acclaimed Assamese film Roi Roi Binale, regarded as the dream project of late singer and composer Zubeen Garg, has filed an official complaint with Dispur Police over the illegal digital piracy of the movie.
In a written complaint submitted to the Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Police Station, Dispur, on November 2, 2025, the team requested an immediate FIR, takedown, and investigation into the unauthorized distribution of the film across various online platforms, including Telegram channels and multiple websites.
The complaint claimed that a number of Telegram channels, a webpage address, and an Instagram page were identified to actively distribute pirated copies and video clips of the film without their permission. According to the team, these copyright infringements have resulted in grave losses to the producers and also infringed intellectual rights.
The Roi Roi Binandle group petitioned the police to liaise with the respective digital media to ensure all pirated materials are taken off the sites within no time and to deal with all those who are engaged in the illegal sharing.
A police acknowledgment stamp was used to verify that the police accepted the complaint on November 2, 2025, stating the start of an official investigation into the piracy case.
