Digital Desk: A tragic incident occurred in Katigora, Cachar district, where Bimal Das, father of a young child, lost his life after allegedly being forced to consume poison by his in-laws.
The incident took place three days ago when Bimal visited his father-in-law's house to reconcile with his wife, who had left him following a domestic dispute and returned to her parental home.
According to reports, Bimal had taken his child along to meet his wife and resolve their differences. However, upon reaching his in-laws' residence, he was allegedly assaulted and forcibly made to consume poison by members of his wife's family.
Following the incident, Bimal Das was admitted to Silchar Medical College in critical condition, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
Bimal's family has filed a case against his wife and several members of her family at the Katigora Police Station.
They have accused them of murder and demanded a thorough investigation into the incident.
