Digital Desk : A tragic hit-and-run incident in Guwahati has claimed the life of 19-year-old Anurag Kashyap (Babu), a resident of Lichu Bari, Alok Path, Byelane 3, Prag Enclave (Ground Floor), Jayanagar. This accident occurred in the wee hours 21 st October, between 3.20am to 3.45 a.m., and it happened on Jayanagar Main Road, Guwahati.
According to reports, Anurag was crossing the road when a speeding Hyundai i20 N Line, allegedly driven by a drunk driver, rammed into him at a speed exceeding 75 km/h before fleeing the scene. He was rushed to GNRC Hospital, Six Mile by his friend Suvagya Das who was the witness of the accident. Anurag succumbed to his injuries around 11:30 a.m. the same day.
Anurag, who lived with his widowed mother, was known for his kind and cheerful nature. His untimely death has left his family and friends devastated. They described him as “a younger brother” and a bright soul whose life was cruelly cut short.
A case has been registered at the Dispur Police Station and an inquiry is in progress. Nevertheless, the driver has not been identified as the CCTV camera footage of the locality depict from the area shows only a blurred number plate of the vehicle, complicating the search.
Friends and family are now urging the police and public to help bring attention to the case and ensure the culprit is found and held accountable.
As they continue their fight for justice, they vow not to rest until the culprit is caught and those responsible are punished.
