Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolences to the bereaved families and wished for the swift recovery of the injured. 

Digital Desk: A tragic fire engulfed a building in Kuwait's Mangaf area on Wednesday claiming the lives of at least 40 Indians out of the 49 fatalities. The building, accommodating over 160 workers, succumbed to flames that originated in a kitchen within the six-story structure. Kuwait's deputy prime minister, Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah, visited the scene, confirming the grim toll of 41 workers lost.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolences to the bereaved families and wished for the swift recovery of the injured. In response, Prime Minister Modi instructed Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh to journey to Kuwait. Singh's mission: to oversee aid efforts for the injured and to liaise with local authorities for the repatriation of deceased individuals.

"The tragic fire incident in Kuwait City weighs heavily on my heart. My deepest sympathies are with all those who have lost loved ones. May the injured find solace in swift recovery. The Indian Embassy in Kuwait remains vigilant, collaborating closely with local authorities to assist the affected," stated Prime Minister Modi.

Meanwhile, Minister Singh, accompanied by a dedicated team, departed for Kuwait to facilitate the repatriation of deceased individuals and extend support to the injured. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar conveyed his condolences via social media, assuring that the embassy would offer comprehensive assistance to those affected by the devastating fire.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan expressed profound sadness over the tragic loss of more than 40 lives and the injuries sustained by many others. Sources revealed that citizens from Kerala were among the deceased. Vijayan, through his office, conveyed his solidarity with the grieving families, sharing in their sorrow during this difficult time.
