According to additional sources, Amarjit travelled to Ahmadabad with Gurwinder to deliver 4.20 lakh for the purchase of drone batteries.

Digital Desk: An assistant to the case's kingpin was apprehended from Ferozepur on Wednesday morning, about two months after the Punjab Police and the Maharashtra Police, collaborated to confiscate 73kg of heroin from the Mumbai port.

On July 16, the drugs were found by the police hidden within a container of white marbles being imported from the United Arab Emirates by a Delhi-based importer.

A top official disclosed that during the investigation, the roles of Gurwinder Singh, a native of a border village under Amritsar (rural), his cousin Amarjit Singh, and two other people, based in Amritsar and Tarn Taran, were established.

"Gurwinder, who is purportedly a heroin addict, apparently devised the entire scheme while working with Pakistani drug dealer Adil, while Amarjit and two other people helped with logistics. According to additional sources, Amarjit travelled to Ahmadabad with Gurwinder to deliver 4.20 lakh for the purchase of drone batteries.

The case under Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act was registered against the exporter, shipper, and other unidentified persons who facilitated the export and import of the contraband.
