Digital Desk: A passenger bus shed at Mathgharia area on Mother Teresa Road in the city was demolished overnight, triggering strong resentment among local residents. The incident has caused widespread concern in the locality, with residents taking to the road in protest and demanding a proper investigation along with immediate reconstruction of the shelter.

The bus shelter was constructed in 2006 for the convenience of commuters. For years, it had provided much-needed relief to passengers waiting for vehicles, protecting them from the scorching sun and heavy rain.

Taking advantage of the cover of darkness, unknown persons reportedly demolished the shelter completely, leaving no trace behind. Notably, a vehicle dealership operates near the site where the shelter once stood. Local residents questioned the employees of the company, but they reportedly expressed complete ignorance about the incident.

Residents have alleged that the shelter may have been demolished overnight by the nearby vehicle dealer authorities. However, no official confirmation has been made so far regarding who carried out the demolition.

Angered by the incident, locals have announced that they will approach the Noonmati Police Station to seek a thorough investigation. The residents have strongly demanded that the authorities identify those responsible and immediately reconstruct the demolished bus shelter in the public interest.
