Digital Desk: Today, an incident of acid attack, reportedly triggered by a family dispute, has been reported from the Odalbakra of Guwahati City. The incident took place inside a jewellery shop, where a heated argument broke out between Arup Baishya and his brother-in-law, Rahul Das. Both of them are associated with the same jewellery business.

As per sources, the argument quickly escalated into a violent altercation. During the scuffle, acid kept inside the shop allegedly fell on Arup Baishya, leaving him seriously injured.

He was immediately rushed to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Bhangagarh for treatment, where he is currently undergoing medical care.

Police from Odalbakra Police Station have detained two people in connection with the incident. The accused have been identified as Rahul Das and Pokhila Das.

Guwahati police have stated that the incident stemmed from a domestic dispute that took a dangerous turn inside the shop. Further investigation into the case is currently underway.
