Digital Desk : The Mumbai Police stated on Sunday that Bollywood star Salman Khan and his father Salim Khan had received a threat letter and that an investigation had been begun.

The move is significant since it comes just days after Punjabi artist Sidhu Moose Wala was allegedly shot and killed by members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, who had previously threatened Salman Khan.

Lawrence Bishnoi's death threat against Salman Khan was tied to the 1998 black buck poaching case, in which Salman Khan was a defendant.

Lawrence Bishnoi is being held in Tihar jail in Delhi, where he is being questioned by authorities about the murder of Sidhu Moose Wala.

A group of assailants shot and killed Sidhu Moose Wala on Sunday in Jawahar Ke village, a day after the Punjab government reduced his security. According to the post-mortem report, his body had 19 bullet wounds and he died within 15 minutes of being shot.
