Digital Desk: In a significant breakthrough, the Amguri police has successfully apprehended two notorious bike thieves involved in a daring robbery in the Demow area of Sivasagar district.
According to police sources, the suspects had stolen a black Pulsar bike bearing registration number AS-04-Z-7454 from Japisajia, along National Highway 37, under the jurisdiction of Demow Police Station.
The incident escalated when the thieves fired shots at the public during their escape, prompting the authorities to issue a red alert across the Sivasagar district.
The Amguri police later tracked the suspects to a tea garden in Mariani's Baisahabi area, where they were hiding. The stolen bike, belonging to Biman Roy from Nitaipukhuri in Demow, was recovered, and both suspects were arrested.
