Digital Desk: A violent clash broke out between two groups over a Kabaddi match near the Rajani Kanta Bordoloi Boys' Hostel of Cotton University, leaving several students injured.

Among the injured were three students from Arya College, including Saurav Giri and Vishal Singh, who were reportedly beaten by Cotton University students.

The Kabaddi tournament, organised by the ABVP, saw participation from several leading colleges in Guwahati.

The conflict arose when Cotton University players accused Arya College students of involving outsiders in the match. A verbal altercation ensued, which quickly escalated into a violent brawl.

Reports suggest that Cotton University students initially assaulted an Arya student, prompting Arya students to retaliate by bringing in a group of outsiders to join the fight. Amid the chaos, a Thar vehicle hired by Arya College students was vandalised.

The situation was eventually brought under control by the intervention of police. However, no formal complaint has been filed regarding the incident so far.
